Katie is an advanced level yoga instuctor (RYT-500) certified by the Yoga Alliance. She also holds a BFA with Honors in Drama from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Following in her mother and grandmother’s footsteps, Katie began dancing at an early age. Her mother was a competitive ballroom dancer and her grandmother danced with Fred Astaire. Dance gave Katie a strong connection to her body, and she has used that connection to find a deeper joy in her yoga practice and teaching.
She teaches the way she likes to be taught—with consistant emphasis on the breath, attention to alignment and physical adjustments, and small snippets of philosophy and spirituality peppered within her classes. She believes a commitment to yoga is a commitment to your total health—physical, mental, and emotional.
Katie has been practicing numerous styles of yoga, pranayama, and meditation for the last five years including a 30-day immersion at the Himalayan Institute in Pennsylvania.
